Ladies Day is a fun monthly event that brings the women of the division together for a day of competition and camaraderie. Each month different club hosts the event.

Santa Monica LBC recently hosted a memorable Ladies Day, with 36 participants in attendance. The event kicked off with an impressive array of sweets, lovingly prepared by members who put great effort into creating delicious homemade treats. Lunch featured a selection of salads, fruit, and other goodies, all of which reflected the generous hospitality of the club.
This Ladies Day was dedicated to the memory of Ann Meir, a beloved member of Santa Monica LBC, who is deeply missed. A moment of silence was shared in her honor.
Ladies from nine Southwest Division clubs participated: Beverly Hills, Casta Del Sol, Hermosa Beach, Holmby, Laguna Beach, Long Beach, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, and Santa Monica. We were thrilled to welcome several first-time participants: Ariyah Cohen, Gina Moffitt, Amy Wong, Frances Olsen, Nancy Kearsley, and Sue Price. We hope to see them at many future events.

Sept 11, 2024 - Ladies Day at The Groves LBC
A big thank you to all the ladies who participate in Ladies Day. The Groves LBC hosted our September ladies day and from the moment we entered the grounds, everyone greeted us with big smiles and there was a lovely assortment of food for our enjoyment. They even supplied coolers with cold water and sodas. The greens were set up and we especially liked that each rink had the T marked and lines down each rink to set the jack – how wonderful.
There were 31 ladies from 10 different SW Division clubs. Everything ran smoothly and we all had a fun day bowling. The clubs joining us for the day were Casta del Sol LBC, Hermosa Beach LBC, Holmby LBC, Laguna Beach LBC, Laguna Woods LBC, Long Beach LBC, Newport Harbor LBC, Riverside LBC, Santa Ana LBC and The Groves LBC.
The following ladies attended Ladies Day for the first time and we hope to continue seeing them: Ann Sakamoto from Casta del Sol, Deborah Long from Laguna Woods LBC, Catherine Early and Myra Farrell from Newport Harbor LBC and a welcome back to Amy Ding from Riverside LBC.

Ladies Day is always so much fun. Laguna Beach hosted our August ladies day and what beautiful hospitality they provided. There was a great assortment of breakfast goodies and then plenty of salads and lunch items. Let’s not forget Heather’s heavenly hash for dessert. Everyone attending is always amazed at the beautiful surroundings and the ocean views as they bowl their games.
We had another terrific turnout with 52 ladies from 11 different SW Division clubs. Everything ran smoothly and we all had a fun day bowling. The clubs joining us for the day were Casta del Sol LBC, Hermosa Beach LBC, Holmby LBC, Laguna Beach LBC, Laguna Woods LBC, Long Beach LBC, Newport Harbor LBC, Oaks North LBC, Pasadena LBC, Santa Ana LBC and The Groves LBC.

Ladies Day June 12, 2024 - Oaks North
June 12, 2024 - Ladies Day at Oaks North LBC
What a spectacular day hosted by Oaks North LBC. Their hospitality was fabulous with an amazing selection of breakfast items, including the cute dolphin bananas, quiche, muffins and other goodies. Then they provided lunch for everyone, terrific salads, mini sandwiches, fruit, cheeses, desserts, etc, etc. Everyone was told not to bring their own lunch that they had it covered. We loved their greens, a new experience for many.
We had 34 ladies from 8 different SW Division clubs. Everything ran smoothly and we all had a fun day bowling. The clubs joining us for the day were Casta del Sol LBC, Coronado LBC, Hermosa Beach LBC, Laguna Beach LBC, Laguna Woods LBC, Newport Harbor LBC, Oaks North LBC, and Santa Ana LBC.

Thank you to Long Beach LBC for hosting this Ladies Day. Their Hospitality committee served a wonderful selection for breakfast and delicious salads for lunch. Our first Ladies Day of 2024 was held at the Newport Harbor LBC. A big thank you to Newport Harbor’s hospitality committee for serving a wonderful selection for breakfast and delicious items for lunch. Everyone complimented the wonderful food. The day couldn’t have been more perfect with beautiful weather along with great lady bowlers. 36 Ladies attended and the clubs joining us for the day were Casta del Sol LBC, Holmby LBC, Laguna Beach LBC, Laguna Woods LBC, Long Beach LBC, Newport Harbor LBC, Oaks North LBC, and Santa Ana LBC.

LADIES DAY HOLIDAY LUNCHEON
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2023
We did it again. With the support of the wonderful ladies from various clubs, our Holiday Luncheon was a huge success. Thanks to Laguna Woods LBC for hosting the morning game for our bowlers. Our bowlers and attendees came out in festive outfits and the fun never ended throughout the day. A special thanks to Heather Stewart for donating her handmade holiday table runner to raise money for SouthWest Division. The special raffle was a huge success.

LADIES DAY November 8, 2023
A big thank you to Casta del Sol for hosting Ladies Day. We had spectacular hospitality starting with a wonderful breakfast selection followed by great salads, fruit and desserts for lunch. To top off the day, ice cream bars were served along with a huge selection of cookies. We had a great turnout once again with 44 Ladies from the following clubs: Casta del Sol LBC, The Groves LBC, Hermosa Beach, Holmby LBC, Laguna Beach LBC, Laguna Woods LBC, Long Beach LBC, Newport Harbor LBC and Oaks North LBC. Thanks to all these clubs participating and making this such a fun day.

Ladies Day was held at the Laguna Beach LBC. A big thank you to Jackie Kelly who was in charge of hospitality, We were greeted with a very nice display for breakfast and an even greater selection of salads and homemade desserts for lunch. Of course, what could be greater than lawn bowling with a beautiful view of the ocean.
We had a full house with 50 ladies from 9 different SW Division clubs. It is so wonderful to see the green 100% full and everyone having such a great time. This was our first Ladies Day in the San Diego County area and everyone enjoyed their day.

Ladies Day Holiday Luncheon December 2022 - Laguna Woods
December 20, 2022 Ladies Day Holiday luncheon
What a fabulous day to have our last Ladies Day of 2022. Laguna Woods set up wonderful hospitality for our morning lawn bowling game. The weather was spectacular and everyone enjoyed a 12 end game of lawn bowling. It is always so much fun to mix ladies from several clubs throughout the SW Division and enjoy bowling together.
After bowling we enjoyed a fun filled luncheon with a great buffet lunch. A special thanks to Sheila Conti for arranging everything for this luncheon. Everyone brings a wrapped gift and we had a raffle to win the gifts. All funds raised are donated to SW Division to support our Ladies Day throughout the year. This year we also had a separate raffle for a handmade holiday quilt made by Heather Stewart. Heather donated this to raise more money for our SW Division. This was a huge success and definitely raised extra money for us.

October 19, 2022 Ladies Day at Casta del Sol
Ladies Day was held at Casta del Sol in Mission Viejo. A special thank you to Butch Nelson for setting up all the rinks and making sure everything was in place for us. Also thanks to other club members for their hospitality. Besides having breakfast goodies and salads for lunch, I can’t forget to thank them for the ice cream bars which were certainly welcomed after a warm day of bowling. The greens at Casta del Sol were rolled twice for us and great to play on, it was so nice to have them back in the loop.
The following clubs participated in this Ladies Day: Casta del Sol, The Groves, Hermosa Beach, Holmby, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods and Newport Harbor. We were delighted to have one first time Ladies’ Day bowler join us: Peggy Torrance (Casta del Sol).

A special thank you to The Groves for hosting our Ladies Day. Mike Porter their VP was so helpful grooming our greens and setting everything up. We all enjoyed breakfast goodies in the morning and salads and desserts at lunch thanks to hospitality run by Vicky Porter, Cathy MacDonald, Julie Kimura and Suzie Houston.
Ladies day is only successful because of the many loyal ladies who attend. Thank you all for supporting this activity. I always hear comments how wonderful it is to meet ladies from other clubs and get the experience of competitive bowling. Thank you, Laguna Beach LBC, for hosting Ladies Day and having such a wonderful lunch presentation for everyone. The greens were wonderful and of course everyone enjoyed lawn bowling with a view of the ocean.
We had a wonderful turnout of 39 ladies with members from Costa del Sol LBC, Holmby LBC, Laguna Beach LBC, Laguna Woods LBC, Long Beach LBC, Newport Harbor LBC and Santa Ana LBC. We were also honored to have Jolene Beck from Long Beach who just recently retired from lawn bowling after many decades and many medals.
I always love to mention our first time ladies attending which included Phyllis Mitchell from Laguna Beach LBC and Cathy Heriot and Denise La Valle from Long Beach LBC.

June 22, 2022 Ladies Day at Santa Monica LBC
Thanks to Santa Monica LBC for hosting Ladies Day. We had to make a change where to bowl and Santa Monica graciously agreed to host. Hospitality was wonderful and had a special treat of ice cream cones after our games.
We had Ladies from Beverly Hills LBC, Holmby LBC, Newport Harbor LBC and Santa Monica LBC. Our first time ladies attending this Ladies Day were Debbie Gealy (Newport Harbor) and from Santa Monica, Mary Jo Zirbes, Ann Maier, Barbara Wallace, Gina Fitten, Del Arambula, Sandy Nagler, Sally Chateau, Sue Price-McGough, Summer Wedertz and Emma Schmole. I’m hoping they are all now hooked on Ladies Day and will be returning.
The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful sunny day, as opposed to the rain forecasted. Thank you everyone for attending.

We ended our lawn bowling year with a bang. What a fabulous day of bowling and a spectacular luncheon. Thanks to Sheila Conti for organizing the food and the setting up the room. A big thank you to everyone who attended and not only dressed for the occasion with their holiday spirit, but for being such a wonderful group. We filled the room with happy faces, entertainment, good food, wine (donated by Laguna Woods LBC), and had so much fun picking our raffle prizes. Charlyn Moltane sang a very funny lawn bowling song and amused us all. Many were in the spirit and danced at their table.

A big thank you to the hospitality of Laguna Beach with breakfast items, lovely lunch salads and goodies, we even had Heather Stewart’s heavenly hash cookies – YUM. The day couldn’t have been more perfect with beautiful weather and wonderful surroundings along with great lady bowlers.
